Crater Lake Data Clearinghouse was released in July of 2000. This site is maintained by the USGS with help from many partners to make GIS data for Crater Lake available to the world. The site is designed to ensure that all interested users have quick and easy access to a wide range of data and GIS products.

Survey of Crater Lake bathymetry started on July 28, 2000. Scientists from the USGS, University of New Hampshire's Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping, and National Park Service, are conducting a new survey of the lake bottom using the latest high-resolution multibeam technology.
