Researchers looked at 17 species of wildlife that live in the Valley, including chickadees, grouse, hawks, coyotes, squirrels, owls, and raccoons.
Wildlife populations responded in similar ways to Plan Trend 2050 and Development 2050; both plans resulted in declines for a majority of the study species.
In contrast, Conservation 2050 enhances all but three of the populations. Small gains in habitat quality frequently offered large increases in population size. For example, the Western Meadowlark population could return to near pre-settlement numbers.
